It has often be thought that white is the safest color for a car and according to the research that is indeed the case. If you drive a black vehicle, you have a 12% higher risk of being involved in an accident which leads to death or injury than if you were in a white car.
The next least safe colors after black are silver and grey and the next safest colors after white are bright colors like red and yellow.
The main reason that the lighter and brighter colors are safest is not because you can see them better at night but because they are easier to see against the dark color of the roadways.
